A Call To Prayer...
PRAYING FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY - COVERING THE EBBW VALLEY WITH PRAYER
The purpose of this "call to prayer" is to encourage prayer with an attitude of trust in our Lord and faith in his ability to transform our local community. To unite in the joy of seeing our local community change and grow for the good.
We invite you to join with us throughout our valley and elsewhere, and begin/continue to bless our community in thought, word and action as we pray for our neighbours, our streets, our places of worship, schools, councils, emergency services, businesses, residential homes and all people in our community.
Let us pull together and unite! Let us be part of ensuring Ebbw Vale is a great place to live!

LET'S PRAY FOR...
A transformed society that puts love and kindness into action, where people look out for each other, and support each other to be their best, do their best, give their best.
Hearts of flesh, hearts of compassion and mercy, let us be givers of grace to our fellow person. Let us be a people that build up the good, and if we must tear down, let it be to tear down the strongholds of satan, uprooting evil whereever it be found.
Our skills, talents and knowledge to be put to good use in our community, at home, at work, and in whatever we do, to help build a strong, supportive community, that cares for and values all it's people.
Those in authority, that they have wisdom and make sound judgements in the decisions they take on behalf of their communities. That they lead with integrity and courage. That they remember they are in service to the community. May they have a heart that strives for a successful, connected, thriving community.
|
Business and enterprise to succeed in our area. For those who volunteer their time to support new and established local businesses.
Our pastors and ministers. That they be upheld by His mighty hand. That they be a bold and strong force for good in the community. That they lead with integrity, a servant's heart and a desire to be love in action. May many be drawn to Christ through their example.
The circuit of wales to go ahead and be a successful venture in our community. That many local jobs be created through this venture.
Our schools. May the teachers there be inspirational for our children. May those who lead the school do so with integrity and wisdom, and sound judgement. May it be a safe place in which our children can develop and grow and learn.
|
Those who are sick, those who are hurting emotionally, physically or mentally.
Our churches. For unity in the body of Christ, and that we lay down what gets in the way of loving one another.
Our hospitals. That the people who work there be skilled and motivated despite the challenges they face.
That as a people and community we take responsibility for our community. That we be filled with a desire to make it the best it can be. That we be motivated to share our time, our resources, our skills, our passion, within the community. That we look for opportunities to serve and that we have the courage and boldness to do so! |
Our Diocesan Prayer
God, and Father of all, you have planted the Good News of your love in the communities of our diocese. By your Spirit at work within us, grant us to grow strong in Christ, so that our lives of devotion and service may reveal to your world the power of your love, which is able to do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
